I am excited to have the privilege to have been called by the Lord to Forest Hill Baptist as the Youth Pastor. I try to bring an excitement as well as a light hearted humor to our group. My main focuses are to win souls to the Lord and to strengthen the bonds that we each have with each other so we can walk closer to Christ.

It’s not unusual for us to try new things such as games and different learning techniques. We may go to a concert, have a retreat, participate in a Bible study or just have Dinner and a movie. The main focus is that we rely fully on God and dedicate ourselves to each other. Whether we realize it or not, we are each other’s safety net in the world while the Devil constantly tries to tear us down.

I have a very special burden on my heart for the youth of Forest Hill. I have grown closer to them in the activities and trips that we have taken since coming here. I have been blessed to create strong bonds with several of the girls and I am looking forward to growing stronger in those relationships and creating new ones with everyone else. I try to show that being a Christian doesn’t mean you have to be boring. You can have a great time and laugh around with everyone as you gain a closer relationship with Christ. As a role model, I try to express my past experiences to the youth to show them where any potential problems or struggles might be.

As the substitute teacher and head chaperone, I try to bring an attitude of fun, fellowship, and support to the group. I try to be a Christian role model and someone that the youth can come to when they have situations or questions arise. I feel like the Lord has laid a burden on my heart to work with the youth and help them avoid the pitfalls and stumbling blocks that I encountered as a youth.

I am the guys Sunday school teacher. I try to bring a real life approach to the classes and promote discussion and real life scenarios. We try to keep the atmosphere light, yet still being focused on Jesus Christ. I also try to be more than a teacher, I try to be involved in the lives of the boys. By going camping, fishing, and other activities with them, I try to bond with them on the level of friend and brother in Christ as well as on the student/teacher level.

Our interests and hobbies vary and we have everything from a fishing “trophy” board to constantly changing discussions on television and movies. All of the uniqueness of each of the guys in the class helps to bring us together under a desire to become closer to the Lord.
